Welcome to Our Family! Family Journeys (FJ) is working with Green Mill Village (GMV), a sustainable resort currently under construction in Arcola (Ill.), to create a line of locally produced items from around Illinois. The items will be available at GMV once open in Fall 2010. Currenlty, FJ has a retail store at the Tuscola Tanger Outlet Center, #A1100, and an online store for 24-hour shopping! Help Us Spread the Joy This Holiday Season! For every gift basket sold at the store or through the Web site from December 1 through December 24, FJ will donate a gift basket filled with specialty food items, cupboard staples, toys and other necessities. The FJ family wants to give back to our neighbors in the local communities during this holiday season, especially since so many families are struggling this year due to the economy. The baskets will contain items donated by various FJ partners including Flesor’s Candy Kitchen and Railside Farms of Tuscola; Homestead Bakery/The Great Pumpkin Patch, The Kitchen of Doris Yoder and RoseLen’s of Arthur; and Green Mill Village of Arcola. Cupboard staples will be purchased at a local Amish grocery store. FJ gift baskets range in price from $30 to $275. Customers to the store also have the option to “Build-A-Basket” by creating their own customized gift basket tailored to the particular recipient. ABOUT FAMILY JOURNEYS The FJ collection includes locally made products that vary from a full 1940s bedroom suite to hand blown glassware, gift baskets, holiday ornaments, specialty food items and organic skin care products. The individual products can even be assembled into custom “Build a Basket” gift baskets allowing the customer to create the perfect basket for each special occasion. GMV is located in the heart of Illinois Amish Country and the local Amish make many of the products that are currently available. We are extremely fortunate to have these valuable resources located in our own backyard and have personally met with the people who produce our items. We know exactly where they come from – right here in central Illinois. While many of the items carry the FJ logo, cards in the gift baskets and descriptions on the Web site tell the story behind the products. Vendors currently featured in gift baskets include RoseLen’s, The Kitchen of Doris Yoder and Beachy’s Bulk Foods of Arthur; Planks Apple Butter and Barbs Jams & Jellies of Arcola; Flesor’s Candy Kitchen and Railside Farms of Tuscola; and Hannah’s Granna’s and Absolutely Scentsational of Charleston. In addition to the gift baskets, the FJ and GMV teams are working with Das Holz Haus in rural Tuscola to create a custom line of furniture with a 1940s theme for Green Mill Hotel & Spa. A group of local Amish women is currently sewing quilts and other linens for the hotel rooms as well. A sample bedroom set is on display at the retail store. Basically everything you see in at the hotel and in your room will be available to purchase at the GMV retail center. If you like the dresser, bed or quilt, you’ll be able to purchase it for your own home. FJ’s concept of creating a local product line fits hand-in-hand with GMV’s commitment to sustainability. The product packaging is recyclable, reusable, compostable or biodegradable. In addition, utilizing local vendors creates jobs and keeps revenue in the area communities. Once GMV opens, our guests will see the products and we’ll encourage them to visit the area communities to learn more about the producers. Our neighbors have unique talents and we are providing a new outlet for their creations through FJ and GMV. Corporations are encouraged to consider FJ’s gift baskets for their holiday needs. Orders of $5000 or more will receive a 5% discount.
